432 Days to the 2010 Congressional Mid-Term Elections
"Congress shal make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free excercise thereof; or abridging freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
The First Amendment of the United States Constitution (1791).
"I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you're not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration."
Hillary Clinton (2003)
It seems quite clear to Democratic lawmakers that dissent is no longer patriotic. In their view, dissidents who oppose the liberal agenda are evrything from "Mobsters," "Brown-Shirts," "Fascists" and of course (in the case of opponents of Barack Obama) "Racists." Whether the issue is that of health care reform, taxes, education, etc. The far-left has made it their policy to discredit and marginalize any disagreement with liberal dogma by any means necessary. Whether it was Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee's taking a cell phone call when she was supposed to be listening to a cancer survivor at one of their "Town Meetings" (Dog and Pony Shows are what they are) or blanket accusations of racism from the likes of D-List actress Janeane Garofalo or jabs at Republican voters from hack comic Bill Maher, the rule is quite clear: Silence and condemn anyone who stands up and speaks out against the Obama administration or it's policy goals no matter the source of that criticism. That includes moderate Democrats (Blue Dogs) who want more debate and open discussion of the issues before the American people. To back up their attacks on dissent, the Dems have brought in Goon Squads from groups like ACORN and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) to both pack the meeting with Obama supporters and threaten Obama opponents with fear and intimidation. Those are the tactics of tyrants, whether they be Nazi or Communist. There is no room in the public debate for the kind of thuggery and manupulation going on today. Freedom of speech and dissent are vital to Democracy. For either side of the political spectrum to suppress that freedom in the name of their cause is totally counter to what the Founding Fathers envisioned when the First Amendment to the Constitution was written and what Hillary Clinton spoke of in it's defense. I urge my fellow dissidents not to forget that freedom of speech, to challenge our elected leaders and call them out when they try to run roughshod over our rights as citizens is not only our right, it is our duty.
STAND UP, AMERICANS...STAND UP!!!
DO NOT FEAR THE GOVERNMENT...MAKE THE GOVERNMENT FEAR US!!!
"Enough Said!"
