Tax Day Tea Parties: A Futile Gesture or a Clarion Call?

04-20-09

Depending on who you would believe, last week's "Tax Day Tea Parties" drew crowds of somewhere between 250 thousand and 1 million angry Americans who are fed up with the Obama Administration's economic policies. Personally, I think it was closer to half a million. Still, that is quite a number for people who would prefer to be at their jobs and going about the business of raising their families. In all 50 states, Americans rose up and with a single voice screamed "ENOUGH"!!! Enough with the tax hikes that rob working people of their hard-earned wages so to be "redistributed" to those who think they are owed a free ride on the backs of tax payers (which is what SOCIALISM is). Enough with leftists on Capitol Hill and in the media like "Air America's" Janeane Garofalo and MSNBC's Keith Olbermann, who denounce conservatives as "Right-Wing, gun-crazy, redneck racists" who work for the "Obscenely Wealthy" Americans who they believe are behind the protests. In essence....Enough.

The question we as conservatives is simple: Can this one day of protest generate enough momentum to make a difference when it will count? Can and will these same angry Americans take this spirit of the "Tea Bag Revolution" to the polls next November and vote out those who would continue to rob us of our future economic strength as well as our freedoms? We need a strong conservative movement, one made up of both Republicans AND Democrats (so-called "Blue Dogs") that will shut down the likes of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid (perhaps run them both out of Washington for good). If we cannot sustain and harness ire into a strong voting bloc that will free us from liberal tyranny, we might as well give up now and  start reading from Mao Zedong's "Little Red Book" while trudging through the rice paddies at the  commune.

Here's an idea. How about another protest march? Say...4th of July weekend in say...Washington? I'm up for it. Are You?

"Enough Said!"
